Negative phenomena, fraud and corruption in ODA projects remain major concern for Vietnamese management agencies and donors.

(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MoPI) and the World Bank (WB) held a high-level conference in Hanoi on Tuesday about strengthening governance to promote Vietnam’s development.

Delegates at the meeting proposed measures against corruption and to improve the efficiency of public funds, particularly ODA funding in Vietnam.

The solutions focused on reinforcing law enforcement by complying with bidding regulations on risk management and financial procurement based on public contracts.

They said that it was imperative to implement auditing standards, intensify supervision and inspection, impose sanctions against fraud and corruption and fine-tune institutions and policies to encourage supervision from society and media agencies over public investment and ODA projects.
