An Indian army statement on Monday alleged that China had carried out "provocative military movements" in the border area.

China's People's Liberation Army regional command said India was "seriously violating China's territorial sovereignty" with an operation staged on Monday and demanded that Indian troops withdraw. He warned that China is ready to respond with necessary counter-measures.
A meeting was held the same day between Indian and Chinese military commanders to thrash out tensions at the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh.
