(VOVworld) – Vietnam plays an important role in India’s “Look East” policy and serves as a gateway for India to tighten links with other Southeast Asian countries, said Ajay Sahai, General Director of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO), on Thursday at a forum on business opportunities in Vietnam.

Vietnamese Ambassador to India Ton Sinh Thanh highlighted the fine traditional relationship between Vietnam and India, noting that the two work closely in regional and global forums like the UN, the World Trade Organization, and ASEAN. Bilateral trade relations have grown significantly and India is one of Vietnam’s top 10 partners. Vietnam continues to be an attractive investment destination for Indian firms.

Ambassador Thanh said Vietnam and India are two dynamic economies with good potential markets and need each other as product consumers and suppliers.
