(VOVworld) – Indian National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon has said that India gives its relationship with Vietnam primary importance in its “Look East” policy and that security and defence cooperation is a key pillar in their comprehensive strategic partnership.

During talks in New Delhi on Thursday with visiting Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Tran Dai Quang, Menon said the completion of legal documents on anti-crime and social security measures during Minister Quang’s visit and the upcoming visit of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will strengthen the ties between India’s agencies and Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security.

He said he is hopeful of wider links in computers, IT, and aerospace and closer future cooperation between the National Security Council of India and the Vietnamese Ministry.
