Indian Health and Welfare Minister J. P. Nadda, who is attending a meeting of the World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, asked his vice ministers to work with health officials in the two states and organise emergency medical aid if necessary. As of Tuesday, more than 1,200 people have died because of the heat wave, including 852 people in Andhra Pradesh and 340 people in Telengana.
Egypt’s capital, Cairo, and other Egyptian provinces are facing an unprecedented heat wave. The highest temperature recorded so far has been 45 DC. A spokesperson for Egypt’s meteorological office explained that the heat wave was created by low pressures in deserts combining with winds from Egypt’s Western Desert. Temperatures in Egypt are forecast to decrease 10 DC on Friday.
