The Chief Judges of the Supreme Courts of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia signed a joint statement yesterday at the close of a two-day conference aimed at enhancing cooperation between border provinces in combating transborder crimes. The Joint Statement underlines the concerns of security, public order, and economic development, and pledges closer Supreme Courts and border provinces.  The conference agreed to establish a mechanism to coordinate information sharing among border province courts. Another conference will be held in 2 years to resolve any problems affecting the planned cooperation between Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.
