Indonesia, Japan discuss East Sea issue
Japan`s foreign minister Koichiro Gemba and his Indonesian counterpart Marty Natalegawa have agreed to promote cooperation between the two countries both in bilateral and multilateral issues.
The two ministers met on the sideline of the recent ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The two sides stressed that the two countries share the same views on solution to disputes in the East Sea which should be based on international law including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Koichiro and Marty promised to hold strategic dialogue at the ministerial level to maintain positive momentum for bilateral relations.
