(VOVworld)- The National Assembly’s Social Affairs Committee and the UN Development Program in Vietnam held a workshop in Hanoi on Saturday to explore multi dimensional poverty reduction models and applications in Vietnam . Delegates called for more research on methods to identify and classify poor households and measure impacts on poverty. Chairwoman of the Social Affairs Committee, Truong Thi Mai“Although Vietnam has followed a multi dimensional poverty concept, it has not built up corresponding poverty classification criteria. The workshop is a good opportunity to learn from international experience and UN recommendations. This will help Vietnam develop appropriate poverty reduction approach to ensure sustainable poverty alleviation.”
