International letter writing competition awarded

(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held in Hanoi on Saturday to review and present awards of the 43rd Universal Postal Union (UPU) International Letter Writing Competition for Young People.

Themed “Write a letter describing how music can touch lives”, the annual contest for children aged 10- 15 was launched nationwide between last October and March 2014. Vu Quang Vinh, Deputy Head of the organizing board, commented on this year’s contest: “Music is a difficult topic but contestants have tried their best to express how music can touch their lives. They have played various roles to write letters to representatives of different sectors. Their works are creative.

More than 1.3 million entries of students from 43 provinces and cities across the country were sent to the organizing board, up 80,000 against the previous competition. One first prize, 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes, and 30 consolation prizes have been presented.
