(VOV) - A conference on investment promotion in Quang Ninh province opened in Ha Long City on Friday. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized that Quang Ninh needs to co-ordinate closely with central ministries, relevant departments and other provinces to become a modern industrial province by 2015. He suggested that the province focus on developing infrastructure, giving priority to developing marine-based economy, ecological tourism and entertainment industry, improving administrative procedures to create an open-ended investment environment, pushing up international integration, and promoting trade exchanges with China and ASEAN countries. PM Nguyen Tan Dung said: "It’s necessary to mobilize all resources to develop infrastructure with priority given to strategic projects, including roads, railway, an airport and two seaports. We should adopt appropriate policies so that Quang Ninh will become an industrial and environmental-friendly province by 2015".

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Pham Minh Chinh stressed the reform of investment climate and promotion as one of key tasks. He said the province will go ahead with projects using clean technology while stimulating its economic growth and social welfare.

Attendees analyzed Quang Ninh’s advantages and disadvantages in the global context and discussed its development roadmap based on new policies to attract investment and make a breakthrough in this connection.
