NATO’s deployment of Patriot missiles near the Turkey-Syria border would fuel an arms race in the region, said Iran’s Press TV on Sunday. Vahid Ahmadi, a member of the Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, said that the presence of foreign forces in Muslim nations always’ causes troubles’ for these countries. Iran said that the deployment of Patriot missiles would be “harmful” to Turkey and would not ensure its security. He added that the West seeks its own interests through the presence of NATO forces in the region and does not recognize the interests of other countries.
