Israel says it has received no new information on hostages from Hamas

(VOVWORLD) -Israel said Monday that it has received no new information from Hamas regarding a list of 34 hostages reportedly approved for exchange in a potential Gaza ceasefire deal.

The list, widely circulated in both Israeli and Arab media, includes 12 women and children, 11 men aged 50 or above, and 11 young men with medical conditions.

In a statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the condition of the hostages remains unknown. Hamas has not specified whether these individuals are alive or deceased, the statement said.

Syria’s SANA news agency said Monday that Syria has ended its roundup of suspects in Homs city after achieving the campaign's objectives, quoting the head of Homs's General Security agency without naming the official. A number of suspects were arrested, and Syria transferred those who have committed crimes to the judiciary and released the rest, the statement said, adding that some suspects are still under investigation.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) plans to expand its work in Syria beyond an initial 100 million USD program, the organisation's president said Monday, citing a pressing need in the health, water, and power sectors. ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric said during her visit to Syria that the ICRC's original program budget for the year was 100 million USD, but they are likely to expand it significantly.
