(VOVworld) – Ho Chi Minh City wishes to increase cooperation with Italy in industry, manufacturing, health, culture and education. Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem made the remark at a reception in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday for an Italian diplomatic and business delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Benedetto della Vedova.

Mr. Liem expressed hope that a Vietnam-Italy business forum scheduled for Wednesday will provide Italian enterprises an overview of HCMC’s socioeconomic picture, thus helping to open up more collaboration opportunities in the future. Mr. Vedova said the recent opening of an Italian consulate in Vietnam’s largest economic hub was a sound decision by Italy to facilitate Italian investment in Vietnam. According to Mr. Vedova, Italy wants to increase cooperation with Vietnam in investment and science and technology as well as in trade.
