Preliminary counting on Monday at three-quarters of the 61,000 voting precincts indicated that more than 59 percent of Italian voters said no to the constitutional proposal.

At a press conference in Rome on Sunday, Renzi said he will announce his departure at a cabinet meeting on Monday and will submit his resignation to Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
