(VOV) – Ho Chi Minh City has actively cooperated with Lao provinces to organize activities to consolidate the bilateral special friendship during the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2012.

The municipal Party Committee Secretary Le Thanh Hai made the statement on Thursday when he received visiting Lao Party General Secretary and President Choummaly Sayasone. Mr. Hai said ‘Ho Chi Minh City’s authorities sincerely thank the Party chief and President and other Lao leaders for facilitating cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities. We have expanded cooperation not only with Vientiane and Champasak, but also most of the provinces in Laos southern region. Ho Chi Minh City will do its utmost to increase cooperation with its Lao counterparts, contributing to strengthening the special friendship between the two countries.’

In return, Sayasone affirmed that his visit to Vietnam marked a new milestone in consolidating the great friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations. He highly valued the efficient cooperation between HCM City and Lao localities.
