(VOVworld) – Duongchay Phichit, a member of Party Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Laos on Saturday in Hanoi conferred Itsala order, first and second classes to 12 former and incumbent leaders of Vietnam’s Defence Ministry. The conferment is to recognize their contributions  and support for the development of the Lao People’s Army from 2005 to 2010.

Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defence Minister, thanked Lao Party, State and people for their precious sentiment to Vietnamese army: “It’s our honor to receive such noble awards from the Party and State of the Lao Democratic People’s Republic. We feel our responsibilities to continue to assist you more to build stronger and more modern armies of the two countries. Vietnam and Laos will continue to develop on par with other countries in the world.”
