Deputy Hoang Minh Hieu of Nghe An province said at the ongoing National Assembly extraordinary session in Hanoi that human resources are fundamental to the development of science and technology.

“As we need a high-quality workforce, there should be policies to help businesses and research centers recruit trainers. These trainers should be given visa support and tax exemptions so theyll stay and work in Vietnam for a long time. We need to make Vietnam a place for advanced technological research,” said Hieu.

Legislators also discussed the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project, including its feasibility, capital, security, and technology transfer.

Deputy Trinh Tu Anh of Lam Dong province underscored the need to complete the law on atomic energy to create a legal framework for ensuring safety and security in the nuclear energy sector based on the recommendations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

“To ensure sustainable development of a nuclear power industry, we need qualified researchers, engineers, and technicians,” Tu Anh noted.
