The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry has unveiled the Ministerial Effectiveness Index this year. The conduction of the Index evaluates the effectiveness of the 14 ministries whose functions and tasks are related to the businesses and trading activities. Results from the survey, which collected opinions from 207 associations that represent more than 419,000 businesses countrywide, show that all 14 ministries score the “average” rate. The Ministry of Justice tops the rankings earning a score of 59.01 over 100 points. Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vu Tien Loc said:“The MEI Index will help Ministries and sectors have better understanding about the operation and implementation of laws on trading activities. This is a useful tool for the Government to build a more effective policy environment and accelerate reform efforts”.
