(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung today/ on Wednesday hosted a reception for visiting Myanmar President Thein Sein.

Mr. Hung expressed his delight at the success of Myanmar’s recent parliamentary election as well as the country’s full membership of the ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly. He affirmed that Vietnam’s National Assembly will do its best to promote cooperation between the legislative bodies, Governments and people of the two countries. Chairman Hung said Vietnam and Myanmar need to promote cooperation in trade, economics and national defence and establish groups of Vietnam – Myanmar friendship parliamentarians to further develop bilateral relations.

President Thein Sein noted that Myanmar will continue boosting cooperative ties with Vietnam in the coming time.
