(VOVworld) – The National Assembly’s deputies on Monday, discussed a project to renovate and improve the efficiency of the NA’s operations, and next year’s legislative program. The project on reforming and improving the NA focused on the responsibilities of relevant agencies when evaluating draft laws’ cost and effect. Nguyen Thi Nguyet Huong, a deputy from Hanoi, says ‘I agree with the vote of confidence for some of the posts that are elected or approved by the National Assembly. The vote will make the NA’s activities more efficient and raise their level of accountability to the Party and people. I recommend diversifying the kinds of meetings deputies have with voters to ensure transparency and democracy’.

The National Assembly’s Law Committee has planned to draw up 30 draft laws and 3 bylaws for next year.

They also discussed the draft Pricing Law. According to the bill, organizations and individuals now have to register, list and openly quote their prices. The deputies agreed that the Government should apply maximum prices, minimum prices and a price range for monopolies of goods and services but in line with the markets. Nguyen Nam Thanh representing Lang Son province says ‘I think stabilizing prices of the most essential goods such as gasoline, electricity, fertilizers, vaccines, and medicines should be applied. In regards to price management, the publicizing of prices should be considered the most important issue. I also think the regulations need clarified. The Government should issue a policy on price management to support economically disadvantaged areas, prioritise areas of production, and specialized products to boost the national economy and ensure social welfare’.
