(VOVworld) – The National Assembly Standing Committee continued its 28th session in Hanoi on Friday, focusing its discussions on the revised Law on the National Assembly (NA) Organization, and supplements and amendments to article 2, clause 13 of the Vietnam Nationality Law. Delegates agreed that the draft Law on the National Assembly Organization had revised and added a number of articles regarding the NA organization and operation in accordance with the Party’s reformed policies and the 2013 Constitution. They reached a consensus on maintaining the numbers of the NA Ethnic Council and other committees while changing the names and authority of a number of NA committees. NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung spoke at the event: "It’s necessary to clarify the authority and responsibilities of the Ethnic Council as well as other NA Committees. For example, it’s important to make clear the areas of authority of the Chairman of Committee and that of the Committee, and this should be specified in the revised Law."
