(VOVWORLD) -Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was officially sworn in for a historic third term at the Presidential Palace in New Delhi.
Modi became the only leader after Jawaharlal Nehru to be elected head of the government three times in a row.
The inauguration ceremony took place under tight security conditions as more than 1,100 police of the Indian capital were deployed to regulate and flow traffic.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by leaders from neighboring countries and Indian Ocean region.
