(VOVworld)- National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on Monday visited An Giang Plant Protection Joint Stock Company and farmers in Thoai Giang commune, An Giang province. Chairman Hung, who is also Head of the Steering Committee for reviewing 5-year implementation of the Party Resolution on agriculture, farmers and rural areas, said that the resolution is aimed at improving people’s lives and narrowing poverty gaps between rural and urban areas. He asked local people to focus on developing supporting industries and high quality agricultural products, strengthening vocational training, generating jobs for rural workers and applying technology in agricultural production. He stressed the need to bring into play local achievements in building new rural areas for sustainable development.
