National Assembly adopts revised Capital Law
(VOVWORLD) - The National Assembly passed the revised Capital Law on Friday, which clearly defines the position and role of Hanoi, and policies and responsibilities for construction, development, management, and protection of the city.

The revised law will take effect on January 1 next year. The NA's Committee on Legal Affairs emphasized that the Capital Law only regulates specially-designed mechanisms and policies for Hanoi, so beyond this law, the capital city is still subject to other laws and legal documents.
Hoang Thanh Tung, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee, said that the organizational structure, tasks and authority of administrations at all levels in Hanoi are subject to both the Capital Law and the Local Government Organization Law.
“The revised Capital Law has added regulations on promoting decentralization and authorization,” he said.
