Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong answered questions concerning his ministry’s responsibility in consulting legislation and appraising legal documents as of July 31st. Minister Cuong: “Obedience to the law has improved considerably. As proposed by the Ministry of Justice, last year, the Government issued a decree on law enforcement supervision, shifting the focus from legislation to law enforcement and supervision towards fine tuning the legal system. Effective implementation of this decree will improve law enforcement in the years to come.”

National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu said that although the Ministry of Justice has exerted efforts in legislation, shortcomings still remained in the implementation of a number of legal documents: “Some legal documents do not conform to reality and need to be revised. It is our responsibility to appraise legal documents before their issuance.”

Minister and Head of the Government Office Vu Duc Dam and Interior Minister Nguyen Thai Binh also helped to clarify a number of issues concerning their areas of management.
