National Assembly to elect new State President at year-end session

(VOVWORLD) - Lawmakers will elect a new State President at the year-end session of the National Assembly scheduled to open on Monday.

The session will take place in two phases, from Monday to November 13, and from November 20 to November 30 morning, said Vice Chairman of the NA Office Vu Minh Tuan at a press conference on Sunday.

Deputies are expected to approve 15 laws and three resolutions and discuss 13 draft laws.

In particular, the legislature will determine the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway project, and the adjustment of the national land use master plan for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050.

Given the importance of the NA session, Party General Secretary and State President To Lam will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony, according to NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh.
