(VOVworld) - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has praised the health sector’s contribution to the prevention of tuberculosis. Speaking at the launching ceremony for a national TB prevention strategy until 2020, the Deputy Prime Minister said that this should be considered an important task. He said:  “We have to identify accurately the number of TB infected cases in the community to prevent unintentional spreading of the disease. Infected cases should be monitored carefully and a constant supply of medicines for the disease must be ensured.”
Vietnam now ranks 12th in the world list of countries heaviest hit by TB. 130,000 new cases of infection were detected annually, causing 18,000 deaths.
