New coronavirus variant spreads worldwide
(VOVWORLD) - Belgium Health Ministry spokesman Yves Van Laethem said on Sunday the new variant of the coronavirus discovered in Britain had spread nearly all over the world.

But he said the infection rate seems to have slowed down thanks to countries’ strict measures to prevent the epidemic.
Belgium has reported around 650,000 COVID-19 infections since the outbreak. Nearly 20,000 patients have lost their lives. The infection rate in Belgium declined over the last week to an average 150 cases a day.
