Nguyen Thien Nhan elected President of Vietnam Fatherland Front
(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front, VFF, held the 6
th consultative conference on Thursday to elect a new President and decide on the major tasks for the rest of the year.

State President Truong Tan Sang announced the opinion of the Politburo to allow VFF President Huynh Dam to retire according to the law and recommended Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan to VFF’s Standing Committee and President. The conference voted to elect Mr. Nhan to be VFF President.
The newly elected VFF President affirmed his intention to exert efforts to the cause of national unity, fulfilling this year’s key tasks, and bring Party resolutions to life for a democratic, equal, and civilized society.
