Early this month, a sea turtle was sighted in Nha Trang Bay after years of absence. Coral reefs and fish species are also returning to the bay thanks to the suspension of marine farming and tourism activities in some specific areas.

Dam Hai Van, Deputy Head of the Nha Trang Bay Management Board, said, "This can be considered an assessment of environmental quality. If the area has good environmental conditions and ample food, marine creatures will thrive there. I hope more species will return soon and contribute to the bay’s biodiversity."

Under a project adjusting the master plan of Nha Trang City till 2040, Nha Trang Bay’s waters cover over 3.800 hectares with a population of 10,000 people. It is expected to become an important location for national security and defense and marine tourism.
