No new COVID-19 cases reported in Vietnam in 3 days

(VOVWORLD) - As of Monday morning, Vietnam entered the 3rd day without recording a new case of COVID-19, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

No new cases of infection in the community have been reported for 11 consecutive days. The  nation’s COVID-19 tally remains at 270.

On Friday afternoon, Vietnam confirmed  2 more new COVID-19 cases, who are Vietnamese students returning home from Japan. Of the 270 patients, 225 have fully recovered, and only 45 are still being treated in hospital. 

By 9am Monday, COVID-19 claimed 206,990 lives all over the world since the pandemic broke out in China in December last year, according to worldometers.info.

The US had the highest number of deaths of COVID-19: 55,413. It was followed by Italy with 26,644 deaths and Spain with 23,190 deaths.

2,994,734 infection cases were confirmed in 212 countries and territories.
