North Korea on Monday urged South Korea to express its opinion on the Kaesong cooperative industrial zone, the only symbol of cooperation between the two Koreas in recent years but shut down on April 3 due to tensions on the Korean Peninsula. North Korea’s Bureau of Special Zone Development said Pyongyang’s next move will depend on Seoul’s answer concerning “core issues” such as joint military exercises with the US.  Pyongyang says Seoul must immediately stop hostile statements and confrontational moves towards Pyongyang. On May 19, the South Korea’s Ministry of Unification urged North Korea to stop military moves that create tension on the Peninsula. Since then Pyongyang has continued to test-fire short-range missiles into the sea off between North Korea and Japan.
