(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on Monday attended a ceremony to honour outstanding Vietnamese farmers and cooperatives nationwide in 2024 on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (October 14, 1930 - 2024).

Speaking at the event, the top legislator appreciated the union’s great contributions to the national revolutionary cause and development. “It’s necessary to adopt a new mindset, new ways of doing things, new determination and encouragement to support and create conditions for more good production and business households and successful agricultural cooperatives to become the core force in rural socio-economic development, especially in difficult mountainous areas and areas with large ethnic minorities.", said Man.
He underlined the need to uphold General Secretary and President To Lam’s request at the 10th session of the 13th Party Central Committee that the highest goal in 2025 is to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. This task should be carried out with the highest determination, the greatest effort, and drastic actions with focus and key points.”
Mr. Man urged all-level Party Committees, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and political-social organisations to take solutions to boost agricultural development and promote new-style rural area building, while facilitating the operation of the union.
At the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man awarded the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer to exemplary farmers.
