(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front held a meeting in Hanoi Tuesday of Executive Committee members, who are overseas Vietnamese. VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhan said the 4.5 million Vietnamese people living abroad have contributed considerably to Vietnam’s economic development. Their remittances totaled 13.4 billion USD in 2015. Representatives of the overseas Vietnamese community said they appreciate Vietnam’s open policy, allowing them to buy houses in Vietnam, exempting their visas, and helping them with nationality issues.
