(VOVworld) - Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a meeting with Hai Phong’s Party Standing Committee on Thursday to review the city’s implementation of a Politburo resolution on the municipal development.

He praised the city’s achievement in the implementation of the resolution over the past decade and called for breakthrough measures in the selection of priority for investment in line with its local resources: “Hai Phong needs to promote economic restructuring and growth model renovation to ensure rapid and sustainable development. Priority should be given to infrastructure development, socio economic growth and human resource development. Hai Phong could become a modern port city based on the development of its sea port industry, logistic and tourism services.”

The Party leader called for more connectivity between Hai Phong and regional cities and provinces to develop the northern economic hub.
