(VOVworld) – Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong received President of the Japanese House of Councilors Yamazaki Masaaki on Tuesday. He praised the Japanese House of Councilors’ contributions to Vietnam-Japan ties and support for the Japanese government’s continued ODA for Vietnam. Mr. Trong said the Party and state of Vietnam considers Japan one of its most important and long-term investors and wants to deepen its strategic partnership with Japan.

Mr. Masaaki praised the development of bilateral ties in recent years and said the Japanese House of Councilors prioritizes cooperation with Vietnam and wants to exchange experiences with Vietnam’s National Assembly in legislation and supervision.

Mr. Masaaki was also received by To Huy Rua, head of the Party Central Committee’s organization Commission and President of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group.
