Party leader To Lam given warm welcome in Pyongyang

(VOVWORLD) -General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un chaired a welcome ceremony in Pyongyang on Thursday morning for General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation who are in the DPRK for a state visit and attendance of the 80th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

The welcoming ceremony was held according to the highest protocol of the DPRK. A 21-gun salute was fired in honor of the Vietnamese guests.
In the splendid atmosphere of flags and flowers and the enthusiastic cheers of the crowds of DPRK people present at the Sports Palace, Party General Secretary and President of the State Affairs Kim warmly greeted Party General Secretary Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.
The Korean leader invited the Vietnamese leader to review the guard of honour. Shortly after the welcoming ceremony, both leaders held talks on cooperation directions to make the relationship between the two countries develop more substantively.
