(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary To Lam said the Party has identified economic development as its central task, so the socio-economic report to be presented at the upcoming 14th National Party Congress is a crucial document for the Party’s policy making.

At a working session on Monday, Mr. Lam praised the efforts and responsibility of the Socio-economic Subcommittee, saying its draft report contains a number of important points, updated data, and well-structured content.
The report, which also proposes ways to achieve double-digit growth in the coming years, can be implemented immediately following the 14th Party Congress, he said.
The report should highlight the importance of thoroughly understanding the dialectical relationship between stability for development and development for sustainable stability, with the ultimate goal of continuously improving people’s living standards and better meeting the increasing demands of the people, the Party leader suggested.
“We must also reach a consensus on the determination to achieve rapid and sustainable development in the upcoming period. Therefore, new thinking and innovative, breakthrough approaches are required to surpass ourselves and meet the set requirements,” he noted.
