Patriotic movement for sanitation, people’s health care launched

(VOVworld) - The Ministry of Health has launched a patriotic movement for sanitation and people’s health care. Speaking at Sunday’s ceremony in Nam Sach district, Hai Duong province, President Truong Tan Sang said the movement is of great significance in following Uncle Ho’s teachings and his moral examples: “I called on administrations at different levels, fatherland fronts, socio-political organizations, and resident communities to change awareness and actively participate in the movement. Sanitation work should be done anytime and anywhere to make our environment safe and clean and Vietnamese people healthy.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said the nationwide movement is in response to President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal for patriotic sanitation published in newspapers on July 2nd 1958. The Ministry of Health has advocated preventive measures including the 3-clean movement: clean fields, clean hamlets and clean streets. The sanitation network for provinces has been established to eradicate dangerous diseases.
