(VOVworld) - Vietnamese diplomacy saw notable achievements last year, especially in people’s diplomacy.  Le Hong Anh, Politburo Member and Party Central Committee Secretary said people’s diplomacy needs to overcome shortcomings, raise public awareness and  improve training in order to make foreign relations more effective. He was speaking at a meeting in Hanoi on Thursday to map out work plan for the Party Central Committee’s External Relations Commission: "The Party has affirmed the important role played by people’s diplomacy in the context of globalization, information boom and democratization. It is necessary to make people get more involved in the international integration process, in building and developing  people’s diplomacy forces, and boosting people’s diplomacy, which is important to National construction and defence".
