PM asks southeast region to achieve double-digit growth
(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highlighted the key role of the southeast region in the national overall development at the fifth meeting of the Coordinating Council for the Southeast Region held on Monday in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

PM Chinh, who is also the Council’s Chairman, urged leaders of ministries, sectors, and all regional localities to evaluate results, identify key tasks, and propose solutions, particularly for achieving a double-digit GDP growth or at least 8% in the coming years.
At the meeting themed "Southeast region's double-digit economic growth for 2025: Challenges, opportunities, and solutions", Mr. Chinh suggested that participants examine specific projects such as the development of the Can Gio International Transhipment Port, the International Finance Centre in Ho Chi Minh City, the Long Thanh International Airport ecosystem, the Ho Chi Minh City Belt Road No4, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway, Con Dao Airport, and the flood control project in Ho Chi Minh City.
He also emphasized the need to improve institutional development for the entire southeast region, leveraging each locality's strengths.
