PM concludes visit to Malaysia, attendance of ASEAN Summit

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation arrived in Hanoi on Wednesday afternoon, concluding an official visit to Malaysia and attendance of the 46th ASEAN Summit and related Summits in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Engaging in nearly 40 activities during his four-day trip, Prime Minister Chinh had a successful meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and both reiterated determination elevate the relationship between the two countries to a new height.

The two sides pledged to raise trade turnover to 20 billion USD by 2030 in a balanced direction. They also agreed to establish an electricity grid, connecting Vietnam, Malaysia and ASEAN.

Prime Minister Chinh also met with senior Malaysian leaders, Vietnamese-Malaysian businesses and the Vietnamese community. At the ASEAN Leadership and Partnership Forum, the Vietnamese Prime Minister was honored with the Distinguished ASEAN Leader Award 2025 by the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific.

On Monday and Tuesday, Prime Minister Chinh and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation attended the 46th ASEAN Summit and related Summits in Kuala Lumpur. He and other Southeast Asian leaders adopted the Kuala Lumpur Declaration entitled "ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future", which will guide the region's development and cooperation in the next two decades.

Prime Minister Chinh also delivered a keynote speech at the Discussion Session a discussion entitled “The Intelligence Grid: Building Bridges Through Sovereign AI Collaboration” within the framework of the ASEAN Economic Forum-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) 2025 program. He visited and delivered a speech at the National University of Malaysia.
