Mr. Phuc was speaking at the opening ceremony of the first Vietnam brocade culture festival in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong on Monday, which celebrates the province’s 15th founding anniversary.

"It’s crucial to integrate the brocade craft into our tourism development strategy. Let each brocade product tell a story that reflects the hopes and atheistic values that make up the cultural diversity of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic communities," he noted.

PM Phuc called for more start-ups to fully tap the potential of brocade making for domestic use and export.

The festival attracts more than 2,000 craftsmen and artists from 17 Vietnamese provinces and cities as well as foreign delegations from Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia.
