PM receives leaders of Communist Party of Brazil, Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception for President of the Communist Party of Brazil Luciana Santos in Brasilia during his official visit to Brazil on Sunday.

PM Chinh said Vietnam advocates global solidarity and greater multilateralism, including more collaboration with the Communist Party of Brazil. He said he hopes Ms. Santos, in her roles as President of the Communist Party of Brazil and Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, will continue to promote cooperation with Vietnam.

Santos expressed her admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, stressing that the revolutionary struggle of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Vietnamese people inspired the Communist Party of Brazil as well as progressive and peace-loving forces in Brazil and Latin America.

She praised Vietnam’s achievements in socio-economic development, defence, security, and international integration under the leadership of the CPV headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Receiving General Secretary of the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association Pedro de Olivera, PM Chinh emphasized the steady development of Vietnam-Brazil relations over the past 34 years, based on the concerted efforts of the two nations and their people, in which the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association has played an important role.

PM Chinh said he and Brazilian President Lula da Silva will discuss measures to promote cooperation and asked the Friendship Association to continue promoting delegation exchanges, people-to-people exchanges, and cultural and sport exchanges, and devise more initiatives to bolster cooperative ties between the two nations.
