PM visits Vietnam’s largest hospital

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday said he hopes that Bach Mai Hospital, as a leading hospital in Vietnam, will continue to promote its traditions and achievements, overcome challenges, and accomplish all tasks to soon become a prestigious hospital in the region and the world.

During his visit to Bach Mai Hospital on the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day, PM Chinh urged the Ministry of Health to direct the completion of the Bach Mai Hospital 2 and the Viet Duc Hospital 2 in November this year.

The Prime Minister emphasized six wishes for the health sector, saying “I want the health sector to effectively treat patients; actively train high-quality human resources; carry out in-depth research of serious diseases, common diseases in Vietnam, tropical diseases; constantly innovate medical activities; boost digital transformation in medical examination and treatment and care and protection of people's health; and be dedicated to serving patients and their families."

Established in 1911, Bach Mai Hospital is currently the largest medical examination and treatment facility and the first special class hospital in Vietnam. Bach Mai currently has 3,600 beds and 4,500 employees, of whom 1,000 have postgraduate degrees. Every year, the Hospital receives 2 million outpatients and nearly 200,000 inpatients, and conducts about 300 scientific thesis each year.
