(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday afternoon worked with the leaders of Hoa Binh province on socio-economic development results in 2022 and the first two months of 2023 as well as directions and tasks for the rest of the year.

Local leaders reported to the PM that Hoa Binh in 2022 achieved or exceeded 18 of the 19 key targets. GRDP increased 9.03%. As the economic structure were shifted, people's living standards were improved. National defense, security and sovereignty were maintained, while social order and safety guaranteed.
Prime Minister Chinh praised the Party committee, administration, army and people of Hoa Binh for their solidarity and efforts to achieve socio-economic results to contribute to the overall achievement of the country.
He said the province should focus on investing in socio-economic infrastructure, ensuring connectivity within the province, between provinces, between the region and the whole country, and internationally.
The PM stressed the need to build and effectively promote the province's economic driving force; rationally adjust the strategies of economic sectors; and prioritize resources for the development of green economy, digital economy and circular economy.
He called for efforts to restructure industrial production by reducing the proportion of mining industry and increasing processing and manufacturing industry; develop specialized farming in association with processing industry and tourism; and turn out high-quality and unique tourism products coupled with cultural traditions, identity and beauty of nature and people of Hoa Binh.
Hoa Binh needs to protect the environment, ensure social security, improve the life of all ethnic groups, preserve and promote traditional cultural values, PM Chinh said.
