(VOVworld) – President Tran Dai Quang began a state visit to Laos on Sunday at the invitation of Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Volachith.
During talks following a welcoming ceremony in Vientiane, President Volachith said he hopes the visit, the first by President Quang since his election, will consolidate the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
President Quang expressed his pleasure at Laos’s achievements and said he believes the Lao party, state, and people will fulfill the targets set by the 10th Congress of the Lao Revolutionary People’s Party towards socialism.
The two presidents discussed ways to foster cooperations and a number of regional and global issues of common concern.
After talks, they witnessed the presentation of a gift from Vietnam to help build a school in Sekong province.
