(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang visited and extended new year greetings to police officers in Hanoi on Tuesday. He asked them to remain alert to foil any subversive schemes by hostile forces and to better serve the people in the new era.

While visiting the Northeastern Mobile Police Regiment, President Sang acknowledged the contributions and sacrifice of police officers in protecting the lives and safety of the people.

President Sang also visited the Vietnam Red Cross Society. He asked the organization to continue its activities in the more remote and disadvantaged areas. The organization was also asked to strengthen its cooperation with other social organizations in humanitarian programs and efforts to reduce poverty and develop new rural areas.
