President receives leaders of MEBO, Lotte Group, International Chamber of Commerce

(VOVWORLD) -While in Republic of Korea for the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Week and bilateral activities, President Luong Cuong on Thursday received Li Li, Founder of MEBO International Group of China, Shin Dong Bin, Chairman of Lotte Group of Republic of Korea, and John Denton, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

At the meeting with Ms. Li, President Cuong welcomed the MEBO Group's investment expansion in Vietnam, contributing to strengthening the pharmaceutical supply chain and people's health care. He said Vietnam always creates favorable conditions for foreign enterprises, including the MEBO Group, on the basis of strictly complying with Vietnamese regulations and laws, to invest and do business effectively, sustainably and long-term in Vietnam.

Receiving Mr. Shin, Chairman of Lotte Group, President Cuong suggested that Lotte continue to expand investment and consider Vietnam as a strategic market and take advantage of new-generation free trade agreements (FTAs) that Vietnam has signed. He stressed the need to protect the environment, promote links with domestic enterprises, use raw materials that Vietnam can produce, ensure social security for workers, and create conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the value chain.

Talking to ICC chief Denton, President Cuong asked ICC to continue to accompany and support Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises to improve their integration capacity and participate more deeply in the global value chain, through sharing ICC tools, standards and practical experiences.

Mr. Denton emphasized that ICC always wants to be a friend and partner accompanying the development of Vietnamese enterprises and participating in APEC activities hosted by Vietnam in 2027.
