(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang attended the 70^th anniversary of the Defense Intelligence sector on Friday. He granted the sector the 1^st class Military Merit Order.

Mr. Sang said the defense intelligence sector, founded by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh during the initial period of the revolution, has grown in a par with the development of the Vietnam People’s Army and the nation over the past 70 years.
He said in face of complex regional and international situations, the sector should work harder together with other armies and ordinary people, to fulfill its tasks.“The sector should continue to fulfill its tasks as an intelligence agency of the Party, State, the Central Military Command, and the Ministry of Defense. It’s important to improve the quality and accuracy of its information and issue prompt advice. The sector should effectively identify and examine the situation in order to have appropriate policies and resolutions in place and be prepared for any circumstances.”
